the project

The Survival Manual is an interactive book that engages the user and entices them to participate in a frugal lifestyle. The entirety of the content has been provided by feedback submitted from users globally, via an online website. Sample information for the project was collected over a three-month period, with data being sent in from every corner of the world including Australia, South Africa, Canada and America. The book itself is made from recycled cardstock and paper, which is bound by a simple sewing method. The title of the book is laser cut into the solid-colour book jacket and emphasized with paper from discarded storybooks layered beneath. This would make each book individual and hopefully more appreciated. Local councils would be able to offer the book as part of their already-existing recycling scheme pack or it could be requested through The Survival Manual website.
